Most instruments need some sort of setting up before you can begin playing. If you have received your instrument but are still waiting for your first lesson, we would strongly recommend waiting and letting your teacher show you how to prepare your instrument before playing. Here's a little more information which you may find helpful: In the case of brass (eg. trumpets, cornets & trombones) and woodwind instruments (eg. clarinets, flutes and saxophones) the procedure for setting up your instrument is relatively simple and, once you know what to do, can be done in no time at all. Your teacher will show you what to do and also give you advice on looking after & maintaining your instrument to keep it in tip-top condition. In the case of stringed instruments (eg. violins and cellos) the procedure is a little more complicated consisting of an initial one-off setting up of the bridge, strings, bows and soundpost (for cellos) and then the much shorter and much less complicated regular set up each time you practice. If you want some information on these initial procedures, have a look at these utube vidoes. We categorically do not recommend that you try any of these procedures yourself. These vidoes will just give you an idea of what your teacher will be doing: Here is a video link of the bridge and strings being put in place on a violin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0cm_pUl9zw Here is a video link of the soundpost being put in place on a cello: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73R7WVtv3y0 Here is a video link of the bridge and strings being put in place on a cello: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEDZu6kwbSE We'll send you some information by email once you've purchased your stringed instrument. Please see our terms and conditions page How long does it take to download items? Once you have purchased your downloadable products, you will be directed to our customer menu where you can download them instantly. The time the download will actually take will depend on several factors including the speed of your internet connection, the amount of people surfing the web using your ISP and the size of the file you are downloading. The average file size of our single-piece downloads (including the free MP3) is roughly 3-4 Mb. With broadband this will take roughly 60 seconds to download but with a 56k modem, it will take approximately 10-12 minutes. Your products will be available to download
for at least a month. However, if you don't fancy downloading,
why not purchase the same product as an 'A4 Print'. We will
send you the printout through the post. On some of these products
there are laminating and comb-binding options. top If you encounter problems during downloading, don't worry, the downloading page will remain available for at least a month. However, if your connection is ok and you still have problems you can contact us through our enquiry form stating your name, order number and the product/s you've downloaded and we'll sort the problem out. If the worst comes to the worst, we'll email the products direct to you. Can designermusic.co.uk send its download products through the post? Yes.
